Case History

The decomposed remains of this man were found in a trash pile behind an abandoned farmhouse about a quarter of a mile from Keysburg, in Rural Logan County Highway 102, central Kentucky near Bowling Green, on April 29, 1992. Keysburg, about 130 miles southwest of Louisville.
A paint crew working on the farm alerted the sheriff's department after one of the workers thought he saw a human foot sticking out from under a pile of old lumber and brush.
He had a gun shot wound to his chest.
Foul play was suspected but there were no leads as to the identity of the victim or who his assailant was. After the investigation ran cold and no one claimed the body, he was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery as a John Doe.
