The decedent's skeletal remains were found in woods off Ridgewood Drive near Blue Ridge, Georgia. The remains were located in and around a partially dug grave, along with wrappers from a cigarette pack, a cigarette, and a shirt. The decedent's torso, one or more limbs, and one or more hands were not recovered. The decedent's name was possibly Freddie Akers.
According to the GBI case file, the decedent had long dark hair, dark eyes, was at least 5'8", had a slim build, and was between 45-50 years old. The case file goes on to say the decedent frequented truck stops in Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Missouri, and Arizona. The decedent owned his own rig and went by the CB radio handle "BA" or "Bad Attitude". The decedent may have been a member of a motorcycle gang, and his name was possibly Freddie Akers.
