Circumstances of Disappearance
Hardie was last seen on March 27, 1992 in Foresthill, California. He argued with his wife, and stormed off from the home they shared, leaving his keys and wallet behind but taking his old motorcycle and helmet. The couple had been married 28 years but bickered often. A search of the canyon where Hardie camped, fished and hiked produced no clues.
