Circumstances of Disappearance
John S. Hahn, a resident of San Diego, California, was last seen in the Laughlin, Nevada area during a trip there in late June 1989.
Being 75 years old at the time, he experienced difficulty walking for more than a short distance, and had symptoms of dementia. Hahn's car, a 1979 white Mercury Marquis, was found abandoned (with rear wheels buried up to the axle in the soft sand, windows rolled down and a full fuel tank) in the remote, rugged desert (where no passenger car would normally go) perhaps 100 yards from the Colorado River, in a location several miles south of Laughlin, off the River Road / Needles Highway, in July 1989.
He has been declared legally dead.
