Reconstruction of Victim by S. Ainsworth

Vital Statistics

  • Estimated age: 25-40 years old
  • Approximate Height and Weight: 5' 8" est.; 185 lbs. est
  • Distinguishing Characteristics: Black male with possible Arabic ancestry. Black short, flat-top style hair; brown eyes. He had a very light beard and a receding hairline/high forehead and had a well-healed 17 mm scar over his left eye brow. Minimal beard and moustache stubble.
  • Clothing: White with blue trim nylon windbreaker (M) over a black sweatshirt. The sweatshirt had a multi-colored horse head design on the front. The sleeves were cut off at the neckline, creating a "muscle shirt"; black athletic shorts size M over a pair of white sweat pants (M 32-34); white long underwear (m), one black sock, "Rocky" hiking boots.
  • Jewelry: He was wearing a digital Casio watch.
  • Personal Effects: Prescription eyeglasses with red frame.
  • Fingerprints: Available
  • Dentals: 1 mm space (diastema) between upper incisors, no restorations
  • DNA: Available mtDNA in FBI NMPDD.


Case History
The victim was located by hikers lying on a talus pile at the bottom of a rock formation in the Boulder Mountain Parks, southwest of the City of Boulder, Colorado on October 10, 1993.
Aside from a few contusions/abrasions on his lower legs, there was no evidence of injury, and toxicology tests proved negative.
A gym bag with miscellaneous articles of clothing and personal hygiene items was found nearby. Subject appeared to be transient.
