Percival, circa 1991.
Missing since October 26, 1991 from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Circumstances of Disappearance
At 9:00 on October 26, 1991, Percival called his sister and asked to borrow their motherís car for the morning. He took the car with a friend and carried out some errands in St. Vital. He subsequently drove out to the Downs Hotel, 3740 Portage Avenue, where he dropped his friend off at 11:30. He indicated that he would be back shortly but mumbled something about "Thereís going to be a fight with a guy who is 6'6", 300 pounds".
Percival never returned to the Downs Hotel, but around the same time he called his sister asking if he could borrow the car for a bit longer. She said no, and Percival indicated that he would have the car towed home as he had found some friends who could drive him out to Route 6, which is the main highway leading through the inter-lake (Oak Point, Lundar, Ashern, Grand Rapids).
It is unknown who these friends were or where he was going, but the car was towed home as he had promised. Towing company records show that the car was picked-up by Superior Towing from the Augier Trailer Park (480 Augier Avenue) near the Downs Hotel, 3740 Portage Avenue. There was no damage to the vehicle and the keys were in the ignition.
Andrew Percival had several known criminal connections and it was rumored that he was moving cocaine for people connected to a criminal organization. It is possible that Percival ran afoul of his associates. He has never been located.
