Circumstances of Disappearance
Hartmann had been traveling between Ottawa, Thunder Bay, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta Canada in the summer of 1983. She was planning to start school at Trent University's Lady Eaton College in Peterborough, Ontario in the fall but when she never arrived at Trent around September 1, 1983 as expected, the University President reported her missing.
It is believed that the last sighting of Angela was on August 22, 1983 in Ottawa, Ontario.
Her father lived in San Francisco, California at the time. She was receiving her mail there, and the missing person report was filed in San Francisco.
