Circumstances of Disappearance

Andrus was last seen by family on August 20, 1987 in Davis, California. While distraught from an argument and contemplating suicide, she left Davis driving a vehicle. On September 5, 1987, a Fish & Game Officer located Andrus' vehicle in the Beaver Creek wilderness area in Siskiyou County. It was parked and unoccupied on a Forrest Road. The officer contacted Andrus' family in Davis about the vehicle, who then reported her missing.

Local law enforcement who hunt the Beaver Creek area, reported seeing the vehicle unoccupied as early as August 20th. A Klamath River market store owner recalled seeing Andrus at the store in late August 1987. She had asked about local campgrounds. After several searches of the Beaver Creek area, she was never located.
