• Scars, Marks: Peter has a scar on the left side of his upper lip from a dog bite.
• Clothing: He was wearing a grey windbreaker, a blue sweatshirt, a white sweater, blue Levi's, white socks, and brown tennis shoes. He was also wearing a digital watch with a black plastic band.
• Dentals: Available

Circumstances of Disappearance
Peter was last seen on November 26, 1982 hiking around the vicinity of Los Padres National Forest. His father had dropped him off at the end of Toland Road, northeast of Santa Paula, around noon.
Volunteer sheriff's search and rescue teams spent eight days looking for Laan and then, conceding there was very little chance he still could be alive, ended the search.
