Alicia Markovich resided with her mother, in Windber, Somerset County, and was to spend the Sunday with her father. Alicia left the house after a heated discussion. As Alicia left her father instructed her to be back by 20.00, but she did not respond and continued walking.
Alicia was a freshman at Windber High School, where she was a member of the school's track team. Alicia's disappearance was initially treated as a runaway juvenile, but investigators soon feared foul play was involved.
