Circumstances of Disappearance

Jack Murrian was last seen in Melbourne on May 8, 1991, when he took off at 16:30 from Melbourne Regional Airport in his single-engine "Piper" aircraft with tail #N8938P.

Air patrol officials suspect his plane may have crashed in a remote area. Murrian, an experienced pilot and mechanic, did not file a flight plan because he was going to fly only 30 minute. Murrian's wife reported him missing early the next day. He worked as a maintenance man at the time and was a deacon at the Lockmar Baptist Church.
