Circumstances of Disappearance
Rodziewicz was last seen by his sister in Newburyport, MA in 1989, when he left to visit a girlfriend in the Methuen, MA area.

He had been in Newburyport, MA prior to going to Methuen, MA where he was seen by a girlfriend. He also had a Methuen, MA address at one time. His brother says Joseph packed his moving truck in Amesbury, MA in late April of 1989. He called his sister sometime in late 1989 or possibly early 1990 from a pay phone in Connecticut. Joseph did have a history of taking off and not calling family members for periods of time but it seemed he called one of his half sisters, on or around every Christmas. There may have been a phone call to one of his sisters after 1989, saying he was in a Massachusetts or Connecticut hospital with a slashed throat.

He called his sister in 1995. He claimed he was in Illinois and was homeless, but the phone bill showed the call was made from Connecticut.
Joseph was a drifter and was known to have been in Illinois, Colorado and Connecticut in the mid to late 1980's. He would talk of an association with a biker gang that used to be based out of Lowell, MA. Joseph may have worked for a moving company at one time, possibly Mayflower, somewhere in or around Chicago, and he also worked for a sanitation company. He had some previous arrests.

He was reported as missing in 2011.
