Sketch of Victim
The victim was discovered in Bear Mountain State Park on November 8, 1990. He may have been deceased for several months before his remains were located. He was found near the Appalachian Trail, which is a hiking trail near the north end of the park. His body was located near a gathering of mountain laurel bushes.
The following items were found among the victim's personal belongings:

The victim wore this yellow gold chain around his neck;

This money clip was found among the man's possessions. It was inscribed with the company logo Klein Tools. The clip included a folding pocket knife, which is pictured directly below:


The wallet pictured above was also found in the victim's belongings;

This knapsack was located at the scene. The tag on the bag's strap reads:

Washington DC
The name and address did not yield any results in the investigation into this victim's identity.

The hiking compass shown above included a leather lanyard;

A book of matches from the Bear Mountain Inn (pictured above) was also found at the scene;

This copy of the book pictured above, The Notebooks Of Malte Laurids Brigge, by Rainer Maria Rilke, was also discovered among the man's belongings.
