Circumstances of Disappearance
Lindsay Wells, who was nine months pregnant at the time, was last seen March 29, 1999 asleep in her bed at the Granby Avenue home she shared with her fiance and his mother.
It was later learned that Wells had missed a 09.00 meeting with her local welfare office that day and a doctor's appointment the next day. The fiance reported Wells missing to police on March 31.
Wells seems to have taken only her wallet and keys, leaving behind her identification and her engagement ring, which she took off because of swelling in her fingers during her pregnancy. Wells, who does not have a car, did not return to the home to pick up her latest welfare check.
Wells has not contacted either her mother or her daughter from another relationship, who lived with her father. Foul play is suspected.
