Vali was last seen at Lucifer's Restaurant at 3510 East 86th Street in Indianapolis on June 24, 1979. She had been there with friends, but no one saw her leave. Vali's mother reported her daughter's failure to return home two days later.
Her vehicle, a copper colored 1976 Ford Pinto was found with the driver's door unlocked in the parking lot of Lucifer's by the Marion County Sheriff's Department. A friend reportedly last saw her at about 2 a.m. walking toward her car that was parked in the lot.
