Circumstances of Disappearance

Jennifer DeLap was last seen on January 16, 1991 at her home in Boring, Oregon. Jennifer DeLap's husband told deputies that he last saw her late in the evening, when she left for the coast with an unidentified man in a white sedan. He said she'd gone to Newport to check into a six-month rehab program. Jennifer DeLap used to contact her father regularly, asking for money. Those calls and letters stopped. Her father grew worried and started calling Newport. The town didn't have a residential rehab program.

Nearly four months later, on May 8, the Clark County Sheriff's Office received a missing person report on Jennifer DeLap, filed by her sister. Clark County passed the report along to Clackamas County, which has been investigating the disappearance since then. In five years of marriage, Jennifer Delap filed for at least two restraining orders against her husband and was hospitalized after several episodes of abuse. Her body has never been found and she is presumed to have been murdered.
