Circumstances of Disappearance
Teresa Shannon was last seen on February 4, 1999 at the Western Sizzlin Steak House in Lugoff, SC.

She was driving a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass, Burgundy, 2 door, bearing SC tags 605-CJY. Her mother reported Shannon as a missing person on February 14, 1999.
She attended a SisterCare meeting with her friend earlier in the day. SisterCare is a support group for battered women. Shannon was in the midst of a divorce at the time she disappeared.
She left all of her belongings behind at her residence in Sumter County, including her medications for her muscle deterioration disease. At the time, she was living in a Sumter County apartment after her $90,000 home in Kershaw County burned. She didn't collect insurance.

According to her ex-husband Shannon had been treated for mental illness at a hospital. Her two sons, were placed in her ex-husbands care before the disappearance.
Shannon's mother reported her as missing when Shannon did not show up for the mother's wedding on February 11.
She has not contacted her family and foul play is suspected.
