Case History
On November 3, 1999, mushroom pickers reported the discovery to law enforcement authorities. The unidentified partial skeletal remains were located in a wooded area off Highway 26 near milepost 29. A search of the area by members of the Clatsop County Major Crime Team, with the assistance of the Clatsop County Search and Rescue Unit, located the remains over a wide area including the skull and lower jaw with all teeth present.
The victim likely lived outside of the Clatsop County area. Clatsop County is located in the northwest corner of Oregon along the Pacific Ocean and the Columbia River.
