Located on November 3, 1999 in a remote wooded area near the Sunset Rest Area along U.S. Highway 26, about 50 miles west of Portland. In Clatsop County, Oregon.

The body probably had been at the location for at least one year.

Vital Statistics

Estimated age: 25 - 30 years old. (A forensic dental report indicates that she may have been between 16 and 21.)

Approximate Height and Weight: 5'2"; 108-117 lbs.

Distinguishing Characteristics: She may have been slender. She had a deformity of her jaw. The deformity in her jaw would have been noticeable all her life. She may have given birth in the past.

Dentals: Available

Clothing: An Xhilaration brand black leather belt with a silver buckle shaped like a "peace" sign and blue Levi 501 jeans were found with the body.

Case History
On November 3, 1999, mushroom pickers reported the discovery to law enforcement authorities. The unidentified partial skeletal remains were located in a wooded area off Highway 26 near milepost 29. A search of the area by members of the Clatsop County Major Crime Team, with the assistance of the Clatsop County Search and Rescue Unit, located the remains over a wide area including the skull and lower jaw with all teeth present.
The victim likely lived outside of the Clatsop County area. Clatsop County is located in the northwest corner of Oregon along the Pacific Ocean and the Columbia River.
