White low-top Pony sneakers. They were out of style at the time.
A hair pick.
Items not pictured: a French/English dictionary, a yellow "Bic" lighter and a metal nail file.
Case History
The plastic-wrapped skeleton was found at 10:30 by some volunteers from the Ramapo chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club, near the Long Mountain Rest Area on Route 6.
The rest area is on a highway that runs through state park land.
An autopsy determined the man had been shot to death.
