The victim's skeletal remains were located in a wooded area off Possum Trot Road. He was believed to be homeless.
On January 8, 2016, it was announced that a positive identification was made via DNA. The victim's name was Richard Wayne Adams from Chilton County, Alabama. He died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
