Circumstances of Disappearance
In 2006 the Northwest Louisiana Crime Lab found some new DNA evidence after reviewing the case.
Brumley, who lived alone for 18 years, was last seen at her residence at approximately 8:30 PM in Mansfield, Louisiana on April 28, 1997. She had been dating a couple of men at the time.
Authorities searched her home after she failed to report to work at the Green Thumb program, at the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office the following day.
They found that clothes and her purse were missing. Signs of foul play were discovered inside the house, the front door was pushed in from 5 to 6 feet up from the bottom of the door, and the screen door was cut to unhook the latch. Potted plants and furniture in the area around the front door were spilled and moved around, there was no sign of Brumley.
Investigators believe she may have been taken against her will. She was declared legally deceased in July, 2004.
There is a suspect in this case.
