The victim was located at approximately 8:54am on February 15, 1997.
She was found in the Monatiquot River, by a man who was canoeing. According to the witness, he had canoed down the river all but 4 days the past month and a half, and had not noticed anything out of the ordinary before that day.

Her body was taken to the ME's in Boston where an autopsy was performed, and fingerprints were also taken. Her fingerprints were sent to several agencies for identification, yet did not match any on file at that time.
