Circumstances of Disappearance
Boggs was last seen in Alaska on October 16, 1972. He was the House Majority Leader of the United States House of Representatives for Louisiana, when he disappeared aboard a twin engine plane on a flight from Anchorage to Juneau, Alaska. The plane disappeared as it was approaching the Chugach mountain range in southeast Alaska.
Also aboard the twin engine Cessna 310 was U.S. Representative At-Large from Alaska, Nicholas Joseph Begich, Begich's aide Russell Brown, and pilot Don Jonz.
No remains were ever found.
