Ambrocio was last seen by her estranged husband on the afternoon of November 14, 1986. They were at a park near the Lakeland Civic Center. According to the husband, they argued and he dropped Ambrocio off at the Church's Fried Chicken restaurant on Memorial Boulevard in Lakeland, Florida, shortly after 16.00. The couple were separated at the time, and Ambrocio was staying with a family in North Lakeland. On the day of her disappearance, Ambrocio intended to visit her children.
She was reported missing to detectives on November 19, 1986, by her sister. Ambrocio depended on her family for emotional support at the time of her disappearance. Before her disappearance she talked frequently on the phone with relatives and friends in Ohio. She had lived in Polk County since 1979. She was employed at a McDonald's Restaurant in Lakeland at the time of her disappearance. She left two young children. Foul play is possible.
