Circumstances of Disappearance
Chocha was last seen in the Harrisburg State Mental Hospital between May and July of 1969 when his sister went to visit him.
At the time he had privileges of going into the city or town. Shortly thereafter his wife called the hospital to ask him not to go to town as she was going to visit and she found out that he was missing. The hospital never notified her of his disappearance until she called to visit.
This was a few weeks after his sister visited him.
He was then reported missing to the Pennsylvania State Police.
His social security number has not been used for years. Chocha's wife had him declared legally dead after seven years.
