Circumstances of Disappearance

Hill, a single mother was last seen in Sandy, Utah on May 5, 1989. Hill left her home in Sandy, telling her daughter she would be back in a couple of hours; has not been seen since. The daughter reported her mother missing the next day. She left with only her wallet. She did not take her automobile when she left her apartment near 82nd South and 1220 East. It is not known where the woman intended to go or whether she left with anyone. Friends and neighbors said Hill's disappearance was unusual because she was responsible and had a good relationship with her daughter.

She is possibly suicidal, however her disappearance is suspicious. She is quick tempered and a compulsive nail biter. She had a pregnancy in 1977. She worked for the state as a social worker.

Investigators were completely baffled by the woman's disappearance until the 1990 arrest of Thomas Trujillo, a suspect in the murder of a Salt Lake City chef. While investigating the killing, detectives searched Trujillo's apartment where they found a prescription drug bottle belonging to Ms. Hill.

They later found Ms. Hill's bloodstained purse in another apartment rented by Trujillo and in the same apartment found a woman's nightgown, underwear and jewelry. Trujillo has denied any knowledge of the Annette Hill disappearance and claims he has no idea how he came into possession of her property.
