    Case History
The victim's fully skeletonized remains were discovered on a steep embankment overlooking a water filled strip mine. This area of Sugarloaf Township is wooded and located approximately two miles from the West Hazleton exit, which is exit #14, of Interstate 81.
The woman's bones were found in December 1994 during a mine reclamation project when a surveyor noticed a pelvic bone. Investigators said the remains were not buried and appeared as if they had been lying on a dirt road near an abandoned mine for a few months, possibly years.
