Circumstances of Discovery

Case History The victim was located at 427 Nicholson St, North Carlton, on May 23, 2004. Neighbours at the apartment complex told investigators the man had been living in an alcove, in the inner-city apartment block, among bins and boxes, for two years. He would rise early then leave on a city-bound tram at 9.30am each day, returning at 6.30pm. The man would clean leaves from the driveways of others at the apartments but did not respond when greeted. A national fingerprint check, doorknocking, media appeals and checks of missing persons records across Australia turned up nothing.
