Gottgens has not been seen since being dropped off at his Yatala home on July 3, 1990.
Gottgens was planning to leave his de facto wife of eight years, and fly to meet his Thai girlfriend on July 6, 1990. He never caught the plane.
Patricia Margaret Byers was jailed for life in 1999 for the 1990 murder of Carel Gottgens. His body has never been located.
At the time, she had already been jailed for 12 years for the 1993 attempted murder of her next de facto, John Victor Asquith.
She claims innocence in Gottgens disappearance, and claims he was still alive, and that he contacted her in 1992.
The Crown alleged Byers murdered Gottgens and then through a series of forgeries and frauds, stripped him of his assets.
