Jordan was last seen at 4:45 p.m. on August 31, 2008, when his aunt and her boyfriend dropped him off at the Men's Direct Hostel, a homeless shelter, on Tib Street in Longsight. He was carrying a small black rucksack containing a packet of crisps and £5 in cash. Jordan and his aunt parted ways on good terms. He was told by his aunt to call her after he settled in, but he never called and never arrived at the hostel. Because the aunt had not immediately expected to hear from Jordan, he wasn't reported missing until September 8.
Before his disappearance, Jordan's grandfather had become ill, so Jordan agreed to spend some time at a hostel in Manchester city centre.
Jordan has had no contact with family or friends since his disappearance. His case has since been transferred to the Greater Manchester Police's murder squad.
