Dean was last seen on the afternoon of July 25, 2012, in the Dunluce Avenue area of Portrush, close to his home on Eglinton Lane. There were several confirmed sightings of him in that area throughout the next two days. The last sighting was captured on CCTV as he went into the NISA store in Portrush.
One week before his disappearance, Dean moved from the family home to a supported living accommodation in Portrush. Family members and close friends have not spoken to him since he attended a party the evening before he went missing.
There was an unconfirmed sighting of Dean in Belfast in 2013.
