David had visited his brother, John, and John's family at their home in High Wycombe on the August bank holiday weekend in 1984 and was planning to return to his lodgings in Stevenage on September 10 or 11, 1984. David got a phone call on September 9, and he told John he needed to leave. John took him down to the train station and watched him ride away. That was the last time David has been seen by his family.
At some point during the early part of the week of September 9, David called John at work. John couldn't talk and told David to call him back later that evening, but David never did. A few days later, David's landlady called John to say David had never arrived back home. John traveled to Stevenage to collect David's things from his home, and found David's passport, clothes, and all his personal items. David had disappeared with just the clothes on his back.
There has been no contact with any of his family and his whereabouts remain unknown.
David had links to Bedford, and to Tottenham and Hornsey in London. He is originally from southern Ireland and speaks with a southern Irish accent.
