David Dyke was last seen at Edithvale Beach, 30 km south of Melbourne. He had taken his three-year-old son and eight-year-old niece to the beach. Police believe his niece was the last person to see him, having watched him go into the water. Both his son and niece were brought home by police after they were found alone on the beach.
The sea was calm and there were no reports of distressed swimmers the day he disappeared.
David has not accessed his bank account since he was last seen. His family says his disappearance is out of character.
