Hair Color: 6cm slightly curled dark brown, receding hairline, in the area of temples gray

Distinguishing Marks/Features: Upper lip beard middle blond, three days beard on chin and cheeks
Larger older scar on the right lower leg, arched from the back inwards and forwards
no cecal scar. Almonds are missing. Blood group O. Shoesize 40/41
Dentals: He presented older but also relatively new amalgam fillings (thought to have been done in 1996). He also had several visible cavities in the front teeth area that are thought to be even older than his most recent amalgam fillings. Why those cavities had not been treated when the amalgam fillings were done, remains unknown. The victim had received surgical and other treatment in order to keep his own teeth. He had no dentures or other tooth replacements. Dental records are available.
Fingerprints:The fingerprints are available, they have been checked in the AFIS and in other European countries.
DNA: Available. The alignment of the DNA pattern with the DAD was negative.
Clothing: Victim was found naked presumably to complicate identification

On December 8, 1996, this unidentified male was located in a former gravel pit in Rheurdt-Schaephuysen (lower Rhine region, district of Kleve). He was beaten to death somewhere else by persons unknown and was then placed without any clothing at the location where he was found. Extensive investigation to solve the case and identify the man, with the help of national media, was futile. The dental data and a photo of the man were shown to all dentists in the area near the location where the deceased was found.
