The last time her mother saw her was when she got out at her bus stop. After that, she vanished. During the months before her disappearance, two men had been denounced for having molested the girl and one of her friends. On April 1998 a woman gave an important piece of information: In 1979 her daughter was harassed by a man who had recorded on tape a conversation with Alessandra where the little girl was telling that two men had sexually abused her . The man had made the recording a month before her disappearance and only after this event had informed the police. During the weeks after the disappearance the investigators learned about the abuse of the girl. In May 1998, following the news, the court magistrate in Bologna reopened the investigation on the hypothesis of homicide.
