Circumstances of Disappearance
Iris Pettet disappeared from her home in Walmer, Kent on 1 April 1961.

The mother of two was last seen in the Dover Road area carrying a suitcase. Her disappearance was out of character. No trace was found of her despite an extensive police inquiry.

The local area was extensively searched, including the woods behind the family home, their back garden was dug up and cesspits and sewers drained.
