Circumstances of Disappearance
Gianfraco Cirillo was last seen on March 8, 1994, in San Severino, Italy. He left his fiancees father on that day after having set with him the last details of the honeymoon trip in a travel agency, telling him he was leaving town to buy a television at a second hand price. His fiancees father noticed he seemed very tensed and nervous.
He was to marry five days later, his fiancee of eight years, who was two months pregnant. A few hours after 20.00, he was seen by a lawyer he knew on the road to Nocera Superiore. He was never seen again. His vehicle, a Fiat Uno, was located twenty days later parked near Nocera Superiores railway. Despite prior research in this area, the vehicle had never been located so investigators theorize that the vehicle was placed there in a second time.
The day Cirillo disappeared was the beginning of a penal trial involving his older brother who had been accused to be the accomplice in a restaurants robbery. He was declared innocent several months later. The man who had accused him refused to testify during the trial but had met Gianfraco Cirillo several times prior to his disappearance.
