Circumstances of Disappearance
Gefert was last seen in Haczow, Poland in February, 1991. Gefert returned to Poland in 1990 after living for many years in United States. While in Poland, he lived with his family in Haczow. He liked to travel and was often going to Krakow and Zakopane. He liked to showoff, and was not hiding the fact that he had money.
When he disappeared, he had a passport issued in USA, 50 thousand zloty (polish currency) and a few images of Nikifor Krynicki's paintings with him.
