Circumstances of Disappearance
On June 31, 1996 Jonas Simanavicius left his home in Marijampole, Lithuania and went to Munich, Germany to buy a car. He was calling home from his cell phone until August 8, 1996.

The last time he called was August 8, at 20.00. He said he was on his way home and at the moment was in the middle of Germany, 300 km from the border. He should have been home by the next day. On August 11, his relatives got to know that no Mercedes - Benz brand of car had crossed the Polish - Lithuanian borders.
