Doe Network Press Release: Identification made in 1996 unidentified person homicide

The Doenetwork is pleased to inform the media that it has helped
solve a 1996 Jane Doe mystery in Maryland.
Kylen Johnson, Maryland Area Director for the
Doenetwork, and Administrator of Maryland Missing
Person's Network, came across a profile of a missing
person named Tonya Gardner on
The Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers web site,
which resembled a Jane Doe case profile on the Doenetwork,
Case File 260UFMD.
Kylen Johnson submitted the potential match between the unidentified
person and the missing person to the Doe Network
volunteer group, as well as the Maryland State Police.
Corporal Linda Lozier of the Maryland State police
contacted Pennsylvania state police and a dental match
ensued. A dental comparison concluded recently this
was a match.
The Doe Network is a volunteer, non-profit
organization that assists Law Enforcement in locating
missing persons and identifying unidentified human
remains. The Doenetwork has been successful in solving
or assisted in solving 20 cases so far since the group of volunteers was
formed in 2001, including another one last year in

Their website details more than 720 unidentified
victims and 2220 unexplained disappearances from North
America, Europe and Australia and has proven to be a
valuable resource for Law Enforcement, Medical
Examiners as well as those searching for missing loved
ones.
