  • Distinguishing Characteristics: Brown "curly" hair with gray roots (2 inches in length); blue-gray eyes. Brown and gray mustache (3/4 inch in length). Scar on midline abdomen 9 inches in length. Wore glasses.
  • Clothing: Brown short sleeve pajama top; red plaid boxer style shorts; brown socks.
  • Fingerprints: Available
  • Dentals: Upper, partial dentures.
  • DNA: No sample available to submit.

Case History
The victim was found in a bath tub of a Colonial Motel room at 232 West Street, room 206, in Reno, Nevada on August 14, 1999. He checked in with a Bronx, New York address that did not check out. Luggage tag with name Carlos F. Otero did not check out. He used elaborate IV device to self-inject himself with LR and Thiopental.
A note was left for his family (no refrence to names of family) and is on file with the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office.
