Case History
The victim was located in a wooded area near 265th Avenue East, and National Park Highway in Ashford, Washington on March 28, 1978.
Two women picking mushrooms found some of the remains in a remote area near Elbe. Skull fragments and clumps of brown, braided hair were found later.
The skeleton was put in a cardboard box and stored in the sheriff's property room until 1985, when it was removed and taken to the Tacoma dump.
Dentals from the lower jaw were compared to those of several missing persons with no matches.
New information has lead Law Enforcement to believe he was from Arizona with a first name of "Willie" or "William".
