Circumstances of Disappearance
Bart Newsome was last seen on March 15, 1983 in San Francisco, CA. The Salt Lake City man had previously lived for years in San Francisco with his family, working in advertising. A month prior to his disappearance he returned to the San Francisco area from Salt Lake City, Utah, to work in Burlington. His wife and three children stayed in Salt Lake City. They planned to join him after the school year ended.

Newsome was a Mormon, and appeared devoted to his family. On the day of his disappearance Newsome saw a friend about a job. That evening Newsome's aunt, with whom he had been staying, called police when Newsome didn't come home.

On March 19 his vehicle, a 1979 Datsun 280Z, was involved in a hit-and-run accident near Dallas, Texas. The driver escaped from police, but the driver description did not match Newsome.
Foul play is suspected.
