Circumstances of Disappearance
Asplund was last seen at a friends house in Moline, IL, on January 9, 1994. His car was discovered in a parking lot west of Interstate 74, in Bettendorf, Iowa. Forensic evidence on the car came back inconclusive. Months later, Asplund's driver's license was located on a bridge at Loud Thunder Forest Preserve in Rock Island County.
Since the last time Asplund was seen, no money was ever withdrawn from his checking account or charged on his credit cards.
Foul play is suspected.
