Case History
On March 25, 2007, human skeletal remains were found in a wooded area off of Cedar Flats Road NW, west of Olympia, in unincorporated Thurston County.
The skull was found March 25 by a man who was walking behind his home on Canning Court as he looked for his lost dog. The rest of the partially clothed skeleton was found in the same general area days later by search dogs. The land where the skull was found belongs to the state Department of Natural Resources.
It is undetermined whether the remains belong to a homicide victim, someone who committed suicide or who died an accidental death. However, the circumstances of the death, including that the remains were found in a remote area, are suspicious.
