Circumstances of Disappearance
Romualdo Cigoi was homeless and the inhabitants of Pigneto, the district of Rome he frequented, became like his family. On April 26, 1998, Romualdo became ill in the gardens of Via Enrico Toti. He was transported by ambulance to the Vannini hospital. A volunteer of the Red Cross accompanied him to the front entrance to the emergency room. When friends of Romualdo looked for him in the hospital, they discovered that he was never admitted.
