Case File 2331DFIRL

Priscilla Clarke
Missing since May 3, 1988 from Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow, Ireland
Classification: Endangered Missing

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Disappearance
Priscilla Clarke was employed as a live-in nurse/nanny with Mark and Lynda Kavanagh. In late 1987 Priscilla with the Kavanaghs moved to Ballyorney House, in Enniskerry. On Tuesday 3rd May, 1988, two persons were sighted on horses going onto Charleville Estate, one was recognized as Lynda Kavanagh, the other person was not identified. Two days later Lynda Kavanagh’s body was recovered from the River Dargle. Priscilla’s body was never recovered.

At the time it was thought the women got into trouble while crossing the swollen river on horseback. However, Priscilla’s family feels foul play should have been further considered. In 2008, a new investigation into the disappearance is likely following a long-awaited review of the original inquiry by the gardai's "cold case" unit.
