Circumstances of Disappearance
Sneha was taken to the island of Mauritius, in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Africa, by her mother, Harsha Pierce. Harsha is a citizen of the country. Her father, Justin Pierce, appeared in court in the US to challenge the mother's bid for custody. He petitioned under the Hague Treaty on the Civil Aspects of Child Abduction. Mauritius is not a signer of the treaty, and ruled Sneha should stay with her mother. in the US was awarded to the father, so she is still listed as a missing person.
