On February 12, 1990, at about 16:15, James left his workplace where he worked as a welder at a metal craft shop in Seguin, Texas. James allegedly spent time with a coworker that afternoon.
James was last seen filling his car at an Ice House at the intersection of Highway 90 and Court Street in Seguin at about 16:30. He has not been seen since.
His wallet was found the next day at the intersection of FM 78 and FM 725 near McQueeney. His 1983 Subaru was found the next day in the parking lot of a grocery store in Seguin. The car was locked and out of gas, even though he had filled it up the day he disappeared.
