Circumstances of Disappearance
Weaver was last seen in Gilbert, Arizona on December 18, 1997. A surveillance video showed him withdrawing hundreds of dollars at 21:59 at the M&I Thunderbird Bank on West Chandler Boulevard in Chandler, Arizona.
Weaver left behind a pregnant wife and a 6-year-old son. He and his wife had been married for more than 11 years and he called her seven or eight times a day while at work. According to her, Weaver worked two jobs, was never late and was overprotective of her. She last saw him in the morning of December 18, 1997 leaving for work. She paged him throughout the night beginning about 19.00 when she got home from work but he never responded.
Seven days after his disappearance, on Christmas, his vehicle, a maroon Chevrolet pickup, was located behind an Olive Garden restaurant on Southern Avenue in Mesa. Police found inside his wallet, credit cards, receipts and the cane he used because of his arthritic hip.
